I feel like traveling by chance

On Friday the day before, I went to a skewered horumon restaurant with a friend, and then went to my first bar of the year. As a thank you for that day, my friend said he would treat me to lunch on Saturday, so I went.

You can't make a reservation for the regular lunch menu, but you can reserve a seat for the lunch course, so we made a reservation at 13:00. I visit here occasionally, but this is my friend's second time.
Apparently he really liked the roast beef at this restaurant, so we decided to change from the yakiniku we had initially ordered to this Western-style meal.

First dish: roast beef

My favorite dish here is the seafood salad.
If you come with friends, they will serve you individual portions on a plate.

The other day I went into anaphylactic shock after eating crab, so I reluctantly moved the crab claws to my friend's plate.

She doesn't like fatty tuna, so she moves it to my plate (yay ❤️)
The plates are beautiful and the food tastes great.

Large fried shrimp with plenty of tartar sauce.

The shrimp are plump and sprinkled with lemon and salt, even on the head and tail, making them a great snack to go with beer.

Next is steak.
This was served on one plate for two people.

A5 rank meat is so fatty that it's impossible to finish it unless you have a strong stomach.

My friend was served the potage soup at the first stage.
I was drinking beer, so it was brought to me at this time.

However, he said the meat was too heavy for him to eat, so we gave him some soup.

The portions are quite large to begin with, so we were planning to order without the rice or bread that comes at the end, but my friend said she wanted both rice and bread, so we ordered half a portion of rice and some garlic toast.

However, my friend said he couldn't eat either of them, so I tried my best to eat only half of the rice, and asked them to take the bread and meat with me, even though they weren't actually allowed to be taken out.

It's delicious, but it's hard for two women to finish it.

For dessert, we had matcha ice cream.
He said he couldn't eat bread or rice. His friend ate the ice cream with gusto.

++++

After lunch we went to see the cherry blossoms.
I was thinking of going to Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine under Osaka Castle, but before that I had to go to Sakai City in Osaka Prefecture for some business.

However, there were beautiful cherry blossoms in bloom, so I decided to wander around the area.

I've passed by this storehouse-like shop many times, marked by a large kitchen knife, in front of the streetcar that runs along the street. Sakai is known for a variety of local specialties, but it is especially famous for its kitchen knives.
The store is great fun, with a wide selection of Sakai's famous knife brands on display and for sale!

In addition to knives, we also have nail clippers and peelers.
Other local specialties include incense, Senshu towels, bicycles, walnut mochi, tea, and Japanese sweets.

There are a variety of exhibits on the second floor.
At this point I thought "What is this? It's so much fun!"

And I bought a nail clipper.
I've always wanted a sashimi knife, but I'll hold off this time.

It wasn't too expensive at 990 yen, but when I had my nails cut using it, the blades were apparently extremely sharp.
Truly Sakai's knife culture!

After leaving the shop, we happened to come across a stylish cafe on the same street, which looked like an old house that had been renovated into a cafe, with a huge, magnificent cherry blossom tree right in front of us.

It is expected to be in full bloom by the end of this week, but it is not yet in full bloom.

It must be a perfect date spot, as young couples were spending their time relaxing here.

This time, I only had a quick look, so next time I'd like to take more time and explore.

The bonus I bought was "Sushinoko" by Tamanoi.
It was a complete package purchase.

Thank you for the meal.
